Welcome to a new collection of Solaris IoT icons. As Orange aims to become the European leader in IoT (Internet of Things), this strategy has created a need for communication material for IoT B2B (Business to Business) services.
No single entity owns or defines the IoT space, this has lead to a wide array of visual communication styles to represent the area. Hence, the lack of standardised logos, symbols and icons. IoT is a fragmented technology, the IoT domain has evolved form a convergence of different connectivity technologies and is constantly evolving.
Over time, symbols are becoming more common and standards are emerging. The best example of this is the radiating arc lines symbol. Seeming to have evolved from something between the old RSS logo and the WiFi symbol. This symbol is fast becoming a standard representation for ‘connected’ or ‘smart’ objects in the IoT market. Solaris IoT icons integrate this symbol when illustrating the connectivity of smart objects.
The new set of icons has been created in collaboration the B2B Enterprise team in order to communicate new genres, market verticals, activities and solutions that Orange is offering within the IoT domain. Initially this set is for use in Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova and Spain as communications and sales collateral including brochures, web product descriptions, white papers and sales presentations and more. However, Solaris icons are reusable and can be used across multiple domains, countries and channels.
This new batch of icons is adding to the expanding collection of IoT icons at Orange as more services are rolled out. You can browse, download and use all of the current IoT icons by searching ‘IoT’ on the Solaris icon library:
